WES IS 22 MONTHS AND COUNTING

 

Scuse me..but quite quietly!

Wes is really developing his lingual ability these days! He has surprised me when he said "scuse me" to Erin at the playground when she was blocking her way. He is also copying what I say a lot more. He seems to recognise numbers (says four after three) and tries to say ABC. He babbles a lot and seems to be communicating with babbling, trying to explain something with babbles. He understands a lot more now. He can say "ice cream" and go to the freezer. 

He is much more self aware. According to the Wonder Weeks, he is understanding the system of me. He is starting to develop the notion of self. If he hurt himself, he has a way of crying that is attention seeking. He shows me where it hurts is a very cute way. He says "mine" very clearly when fighting with Erin for something. He expresses his dislikes by screaming loudly if Erin is in his personal space. 

Besides that, he has recently been really into books! We have started a new routine of reading before bedtime. He always responds with "boook" and runs and gets a book and sits on his bed..he is able to pay attention to the story, though he does sometimes go rogue and turn the page out of order.

Notwithstanding, he loves a good giggle with Erin. He mimics her incessantly and has a good laugh and tumble with her. Wes is always ready with a smile, and ready for a laugh. Wonderful Wes!
